My View of Trading

For me, trading is simple. Not easy — but simple, if you follow the rules.

Imagine flipping a coin with a billionaire:

  • Every time you lose, you give him 1R.
  • Every time you win, he gives you 3R.

Would you play that game?

I would — every single time.

Because in the long run, the mathematical edge is on your side. Even if you lose 7 out of 10 flips, you still come out ahead:

7 LOSSES
-7R
3 WINS
+9R
TOTAL RETURN
+2R

That’s the foundation I build everything on. Then come the rules:

  • When to enter a trade with high probability setups.
  • How to manage the position to cut losses quickly and let profits run.
  • How to manage emotions (perhaps the most critical and challenging component of trading).

If you can stick to these rules, trading stops being chaos. It becomes simple. And over time, it can even become easy.

But it all starts with one core mindset: Understand how the game works. For me, it’s this simple:

You risk 1 to win 3 (or more) — and if you keep playing with discipline, you will win in the long run.

I personally prefer to trade during the hours of 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM New York time, which corresponds to 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM in Italy. I find this window ideal for liquidity and market activity. All trade entries are referenced in NY time.
